In connection with From the Ground Up: A Petition to Protect New York City’s Community Gardens, Green Guerillas, the New York City Community Garden Coalition, and Earthjustice present the 2021 From the Ground Up: NYC Community Garden Photo Contest! We invite NYC community gardeners and enthusiasts to share a photo taken at their local community garden to win up to $500. Take your best shot and share what protecting your local garden would mean to you and your community!
Photo Contest Prizes
Winning entries will be awarded $500 (First place); $300 (Second Place); $200 (Third Place).
Rules & Deadlines
· Upload a photo taken at your local community garden on Instagram using the hashtag #ProtectNYCCommunityGardens and tag @greenguerillas & @earthjustice.
· Include a caption indicating community garden name and location and complete this sentence: “Protecting my local community garden is important because . . .”
· Entries will be accepted through July 18th, 2021.
· Winners will be announced in mid-August. Please look out for an Instagram DM from @greenguerillas. Winning entries will also be posted on Green Guerillas' Instagram page.
· Winners will be selected by representatives from Green Guerillas, the New York City Community Garden Coalition, and Earthjustice.
To ensure that community gardens continue to strengthen and transform communities, Earthjustice, the New York City Community Gardens Coalition, Green Guerillas, and other organizations submitted From the Ground Up: A Petition to Protect New York City’s Community Gardens.
