The William Hooper Community Garden

One of our largest community gardens, formerly known as Jacquline Davis Community Garden, this garden has an incredible set up for summer BBQs, gardening and enjoying the growing season. The William Hooper Garden has a dedicated picnic table area, well preserved gazebo with a rain collection system and a gorgeous weeping willow tree (5 stories tall!). This garden is a well-maintained green space that welcomes the community all season long.

The William Rainey Garden

Neighborhood: Longwood
The William Rainey Garden is unlike any of our gardens. An urban fruit orchard with peaches, cherries, apricots, apples, plums, figs, blueberries and pears all growing within season after season. The garden is connected to Playground 52 and it's beautiful amphitheater which hosts salsa concerts in the summer. This garden is perfect for seniors.

One of our livelier gardens with a play area for kids, ample space for events, a peach, fig and apricot tree, several rows of garden beds and more! The current Bronx Land Trust President Ramon is the garden manager for SWS. This garden is forever hosting events, families and gardeners all season long!

Roberto Clemente Community Garden

An incredible garden with a devoted member base, Roberto Clemente Community Garden has been inviting the community in to garden and volunteer for years. This garden has built a wonderful reputation as a reliable green space open to all. There are garden beds, a wonderful gazebo and accessible path available to members and visitors alike.

Perry's Garden

Perry's Garden was recently renovated with the support of New York Restoration Project. The garden has tons of shade, a delicious cherry tree, new garden beds, a pergola, new path and beautiful street art. This garden has new leadership and is seeking new members for the new season!

The Classics Bronx Community Garden

Formerly Cauldwell Youth Garden, The Classics has a vibe all its own. It's hard to miss this biker club community garden with huge Boricua vibes. Beautiful, raised garden beds, a new fruit orchard growing, a collection of homing pigeons (seriously!) and an accessible path with a calm gazebo.

Palmas Del Caribe

A Caribbean inspired haven, Palmas Del Caribe has a truly unique feature that brings the warmth of Puerto Rico to the concrete streets of the Bronx. Palmas has created an almost perfect replica of a little casita, with a welcoming porch and cozy seats, picture walls of gardeners and members of years past and a rain collection system leading to a handy outdoor sink. The garden has created a backyard for the casita filled with garden beds.

Formerly known as "Tremont Community Garden," this is our largest community garden with just over 17,000 square feet. Oasis on the Green has fig, peach and apples trees with a large pergola and new solar panels. The garden hosts holiday events for kids year-round and provides food to the community with the aid of local farm/homestead partnerships.

A staple in the community, hosting countless family friendly events during the season and has built decades long connections with its neighboring church, school and the Bronx Documentary Center located right next door. This garden has ample growing space, a unique pergola with connected rainwater collection system and plethora of stories to share from the gardens creation all the way to its 45th birthday.
